SK Officials identify recipients of Rugao Gives Back

The Sangguniang Kabataan Officials led by the Chairman Sandee Bermudez, started identifying the recipients of the upcoming "Rugao Gives Back".

The group started surveying all the puroks of Rugao including Dammang and Balla to come up with a number of children and senior citizens who will receive the t-shirts, umbrellas and other goodies that the Rugao Online Community will be handing out on December 20, 2010.

Sandee Bermudez said that they will come up with the list before the end of the month. He added that a tarpaulin containing the logo of Rugao Gives Back will be produced by the Barangay Officials to be used during the charity work.

Rugao Gives Back coincides with the SK and Barangary Christmas Party of Rugao.

Rugao Online Community's Mission

For the past month we've been calling ourselves as "RII Facebook Community". Since we are already a big group with a blog site, I thought of changing that name into "Rugao Online Community" or ROC because aside from facebook we also interact using our blog. In addition, I drafted a MISSION for our community (which can be viewed at the tab which is labeled as "Mission" on the web page of our blog).

Here's the Mission of Rugao Online Community:

"Rugao Online Community's mission is to actively serve the people of Rugao by providing charitable services, that contribute to the spiritual, physical and intellectual well-being of the community."

I need your comments regarding the change of name and the addition of our mission. Thank you.

The Best Christmas Ever

<this article is originally posted in RII Facebook Community Notes>

RII Blogsite Launches "RII True Stories"

Here's another idea that has struck me by now.
We all know that we haven't seen each other for years.. And I just thought that "RII True Stories" will be a venue for each one of us to share our stories that will inspire our members. Stories to live by. When I say stories, it can be a story of success, struggle or failure in life that  have taught  us lessons and made us become a strong person that we are now. Be assured that your name will not be published ( I will only publish your name if you want to).

That's why, I am encouraging everyone to write your stories now by sending me a message in our RII Facebook account. Before your stories will be published in our blogsite, it will undergo editing so as to make it more presentable. It may be written in Ilocano, Tagalog, English or a mixed of the three languages. It must be atleast ( not less than) 3 paragraphs!

I am hoping that you will share your stories here. Who knows, your story may touch the lives of our members!

Thank you!

History of RII Facebook Community

(This article is taken from the notes of RII Facebook Page)

I've been on facebook for years but I have few friends from my beloved barangay, maybe because I have never stayed there since I started working on radio when I was 17. When I moved to Rugao in June, I felt like I missed the place terribly.

Anyway, it was Typhoon Juan that gave me the idea to create this account. After the typhoon, I posted the photos I took during and just right after the typhoon! And upon putting the photos online, I received a lot of comments from the people of Rugao mostly those from outside the country. And right there and then I realized that I can use Facebook to link everyone from Rugao.

Initially I thought it would be hard to put everyone in one account because my only "friends" from Rugao were Lea, Aunt Gladys, Love, Aunt Criselda, Aunt Nene and my other relatives. But why not coz people might find out and eventually I could create a venue to link everyone. With that in mind, I immediately created an account and named it "Rugao Ilagan Isabela". On the first day alone, the account already has 45 friends. I will be happy if it becomes 80 in the next few weeks but to my surprise it grew bigger and has reached everyone until it surpassed 100 friends! And right before my eyes, everyone is exchanging Hello's and Hi's and everyone started to exchange ideas and news and are laughing together. And with barely 2 months, the members are about to touch the lives of their beloved ka-barangays through the birth of what I believe the first and the biggest charity event in Rugao dubbed as "Rugao Gives Back". Thank you everyone and I hope that our community will continue to grow and help towards the betterment of the lives of the people of Rugao.

God bless us all!

RII Facebook Community launches "Rugao Gives Back"

RII Facebook Community, the growing community of the people of Rugao only on its first month launches "Rugao Gives Back" - a charity and gift-giving event for the needy children  and senior citizens of Rugao. The event is RII's way of showing its gratitude to the barangay that has shaped and mold them.

The organizers dubbed this event as the biggest gift-giving activity and the first of its kind in Rugao. The funds which will be used in the charity work all came from the members of RII in the form of cash donations. In less than a month, the group is close to its target of 50,000 pesos. Thanks to the big hearts of the donors!

"Rugao Gives Back" happens December 20, 2010 at 6:00pm. This is in cooperation with the Barangay and SK Officials of Rugao. For donations please visit Rugao's Facebook Page (Rugao Ilagan Isabela).

Rugao Ilagan Isabela now on facebook

Rugao Ilagan Isabela has joined the social networking community with the creation of its facebook account named "Rugao Ilagan Isabela." The account was created a month ago and now has more than 100 friends, mostly from Rugao and nearby barangays (San Juan, San Pablo) living around the Philippines and outside the country like Hong Kong, Singapore, South Korea, Saudi Arabia, Dubai, Iraq and European territories.

The account provides venue for everyone to interact, exchange ideas and learn the latest in Rugao. Just recently, the account has provided a clear picture of the devastation caused by super typhoon Juan and has covered events like the synchronized Barangay and SK elections and private event like wedding!

Wit its growing "friends", Rugao Ilagan Isabela Facebook Community will continue to serve the people of Rugao especially those who have not gone home for years!
